It’s not too late to submit a paper for SASLI’s Interpreting – 25 Years of Evolution conference, to be held in Edinburgh on 5th and 6th October 2007.

The deadline for submitting abstracts has been extended to 25th May, so if you are interested, please email your abstract (no more than 200 words) to Helga McGilp at helga@sasli.org.uk.

Various stakeholders will be giving papers on interpreting, but we would like more presentations about interpreters – it would be great if SASLI members could do this.  We would also welcome more papers presented by Deaf people.

Please note that not all presentations will be 75 minutes long. There will also be workshops, which may take 30 minutes including time for questions.  People are also welcome to submit proposals for joint presentations, with two people presenting for 15 minutes each, or three people each presenting for 10 minutes.

Possible themes include:

˜    Quality assurance and issues in the provision of sign language interpreting services
˜    Consumer perspectives on sign language interpreting
